Golden Connection/SQL provides a database independent interface allowing access to a wide variety of databases from within GCLISP using SQL queries. Golden Connection/SQL is based on Microsoft's Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) technology using X/Open and SQL Access Group CAE specifications.

With Golden Connection/SQL and ODBC, developers can access both relational and non-relational databases using the same queries and the same LISP API. This power allows developers to structure code independent of the database used to store their data, providing access to multiple databases and reducing development time. Golden Connection/SQL allows developers to build end user applications without concern for the differences among end user databases.
